JAMMU, January 10 2026 :- Marking a significant spiritual and historic milestone, J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Sat Sharma (CA), performed a special puja at the Shiv Temple in Kashi Nagar, Bakshi Nagar today.
Accompanied by senior party leaders, the MP offered prayers for national peace and prosperity while officially calling for widespread participation in the Somnath Swabhiman Parv.
This year-long observance commemorates two monumental events: the 1,000th anniversary of the 1026 attack on the sacred Somnath Temple and the 75th anniversary of its historic reconstruction.
Highlighting the temple’s status as a symbol of India’s civilizational resilience, Sharma emphasized that the Parv is a tribute to the nation’s enduring faith and cultural pride.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma detailed the nationwide spiritual movement that commenced today with collective Omkar Mantra chanting and aartis in temples across the country to honor the spirit of national self-respect.
He announced that on January 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the Sahasra Sankalp Yatra at the Somnath Temple in Gujarat, formally inaugurating the year-long series of programs.
Sharma urged elected representatives and the general public to join these celebrations in large numbers, stating that such collective spiritual initiatives are essential to strengthening India’s national unity and reaffirming its timeless identity.
