SRINAGAR, Jan 27, 2026 — In response to deteriorating weather conditions and relentless snowfall across the Kashmir Valley, the Srinagar Airport Authority has announced a total suspension of flight operations for the day.
Taking to their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, authorities confirmed that the primary runway has been rendered unsafe for aircraft movements due to significant snow accumulation and low visibility.
To prioritize passenger safety, all scheduled arrivals and departures to and from Srinagar have been officially cancelled. Airport officials and airline partners are currently monitoring the meteorological situation in real-time. Operations are expected to resume only after the runway is cleared and certified safe for landing and takeoff by technical teams.
Travelers are strongly advised not to head to the airport without first verifying their flight status. The authority has urged passengers to stay in direct contact with their respective airlines for rebooking options or refund updates. While expressing regret for the disruption, the Srinagar Airport Authority thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during this seasonal weather challenge.
