SMC Hosts Health Camp for Women Under “Naari Leads Swachhata” Theme
SRINAGAR, MARCH 14, 2026 — In a significant move to honor International Women’s Day, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) hosted an extensive health camp at its Karan Nagar headquarters.
Held under the inspiring theme “Naari Leads Swachhata,” the event was organized in partnership with Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and its associated hospitals. The initiative was designed to celebrate the indispensable role women play in driving sanitation efforts, public health, and the overall well-being of the community.
The camp was initiated following directives from SMC Commissioner Faz Lul Haseeb, reflecting the Corporation’s dedicated focus on the welfare of its female workforce. Under the coordination of SMC Health Officer Dr. Fauzia Habib, a specialized medical team provided comprehensive screenings and consultations.
Female sanitation workers and central office staff received expert care from GMC specialists, including Dr. Rehana Kausar, who helped oversee the professional medical guidance provided throughout the day.Beyond basic check-ups, the program emphasized preventive healthcare and early diagnosis, particularly for those on the front lines of urban sanitation.
