SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 19: In a swift response to reckless behavior on public roads, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Shopian have registered an FIR against a stunt biker in the Zawoora area.
The accused, identified as Furqan Ahmad Dar, was reportedly performing dangerous maneuvers on a public road, an act that authorities stated endangered his own life and posed a severe risk to other commuters.
Following the incident, the police registered FIR No. 270/2025 under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The motorcycle used in the stunts has been seized, and a formal investigation is currently underway to ensure full legal accountability.The Jammu and Kashmir Police have issued a stern reminder that stunt biking and rash driving on public thoroughfares are strictly prohibited and will result in stringent legal penalties. Emphasizing that roads are intended for safe travel, officials appealed to the youth to prioritize traffic discipline and urged parents to actively counsel their children on the life-threatening consequences of irresponsible driving.
This crackdown is part of a broader commitment by the district police to maintain road safety and ensure a disciplined traffic environment for all citizens in Shopian.
