Shopian Police Bolster Anti-Drug Strategy with 3-Day NDPS Act Training for Investigators

SHOPIAN, February 16: To fortify the legal fight against substance abuse, a comprehensive three-day training intensive focused on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act successfully concluded at the District Training Centre, DPL Shopian.

This specialized program was designed to sharpen the investigative skills and procedural knowledge of Investigation Officers (IOs) stationed across various police units in the district.

By enhancing the professional competence of these officers, the J&K Police aim to ensure that narcotics-related cases are handled with the highest level of legal precision and effectiveness.

Throughout the three-day course, subject matter experts provided in-depth sessions on critical phases of narcotics enforcement, including the formal registration of cases, sophisticated search and seizure procedures, and the meticulous preservation of evidence.

A significant portion of the curriculum was dedicated to forensic coordination and the preparation of airtight charge sheets to improve conviction rates in drug-trafficking cases.

Senior officers emphasized that strict adherence to procedural safeguards is non-negotiable for maintaining transparency and ensuring that drug peddlers face the full weight of the law.

This initiative marks a proactive step by the Shopian Police to modernize their law enforcement mechanisms and systematically dismantle the drug menace within the region.
