Sewa Parv 2025 activities witness enthusiastic participation across Kathua

Kathua, September 23: Continuing the ongoing celebrations of Sewa Parv 2025, a series of activities were today organised across Kathua district, reflecting collective spirit towards cleanliness, digital empowerment and sustainable development.

Sheep Husbandry Department Kathua inaugurated a five-day training programme under CSS-ATMA at the District Complex in the presence of MLA Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, and District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kathua, Dr. R.K. Manhas.

Around one hundred breeders were registered for the programme. District Sheep Husbandry Officer shared a detailed training schedule highlighting modern interventions in livestock rearing, fodder management, vaccination drives, dosing, dipping and employment-oriented schemes.

On the occasion, MLA Kathua commended the role of the department in uplifting weaker sections and handed over an on-spot sanction letter for establishment of a breed-based farm under HADP to a beneficiary.

In Billawar, Municipal Committee organised a cleanliness drive in and around Shiv Temple to promote hygiene and community participation in maintaining public spaces.Municipal Committee Hiranagar carried out multiple sanitation activities including a cleanliness drive at Ward No. 9, fogging at public places in Ward No. 4 and sanitation work at CTU in Ward No. 1, ensuring cleaner surroundings for residents.Municipal Council Kathua conducted several impactful activities under Sewa Parv Day 7.

A cleanliness drive under “Ek Ganta Ek Sath” campaign was held from Jarai Chowk to V2 Mall with active public participation. A plantation drive under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” was organised at the Material Recovery Facility, Kathua, with installation of tree guards for sapling protection.

Wall painting activities on AMRUT and NCAP themes were also carried out at PWD Colony under AMRUT 2.0 to spread awareness on sustainable urban growth.To mark Digital Literacy Day, ITI Kathua organised a digital awareness and training programme focusing on UPI, DigiLocker and other e-services. Special training was also imparted to Self-Help Groups to enhance digital skills and strengthen grassroots empowerment.
