SAMBA, January 17, 2026 — Security agencies in Samba district have been placed on high alert following another suspected drone intrusion in the Ramgarh sector, marking the fifth such incident within a single week.
The suspicious activity was reported around 7:00 PM when a drone originating from the Pakistani side was observed entering Indian airspace. The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) remained visible for approximately two to three minutes before retreating across the border back into Pakistani territory.
Immediately following the sighting, the Indian Army and various security agencies launched an extensive search operation across the affected area.
This surge in drone activity over the past week has prompted officials to significantly intensify border surveillance. Investigations are currently underway to determine the nature of these repeated incursions and to ensure the continued integrity of the border security grid.
