Scheduled Power Shutdown in Jammu: Several Areas to Face Temporary Outage on March 18
JAMMU March 17, 2026 — The Chief Engineer (Distribution) of the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL), Jammu, has issued a formal notice regarding a scheduled power shutdown affecting several key areas on Wednesday, March 18.
According to the official communication, the electricity supply will be suspended from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM to facilitate essential maintenance or infrastructure works. Residents and commercial establishments in Devik, Jakheni, Power House, Palkhi, Bharat Nagar, and Shiv Nagar are advised to plan accordingly for the six-hour disruption.

The outage will also extend to Pathi, Panchery Boomag, P.TC, Sansoo, Mansar Garhi Railway, and Battal Ballian I.T.B.P, along with their surrounding localities. JPDCL officials have noted that these temporary interruptions are necessary to ensure the long-term reliability of the power grid.
While the department aims to restore services promptly by early afternoon, consumers in the impacted zones are encouraged to complete power-dependent tasks before the scheduled cutoff time.
