Satish Sharma Visits Dev Sathan Balli; Announces ₹30 Lakh Grant for Kharah Balli Development

JAMMU, Jan 3: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Transport, and IT, Satish Sharma, paid obeisance at the revered Dev Sathan Balli today during its annual religious congregation, praying for the region’s peace and prosperity.

Following the ceremony, the Minister held an extensive public outreach program at Kharah Balli, where he reaffirmed the Omar Abdullah administration’s commitment to prioritizing border and underserved rural areas.

To provide an immediate boost to local infrastructure, Sharma announced a grant of ₹30 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) specifically for Block Kharah Balli. This funding is earmarked for enhancing civic amenities, community facilities, and improving the overall quality of life for residents in this strategically sensitive belt.

Accompanied by MLA Chanapora Mushtaq Guru, the Minister also inspected the ongoing construction of a local playfield at Balli. Emphasizing that sports are vital for youth empowerment and steering the younger generation away from social evils, he directed officials to expedite the project while maintaining high quality standards.

Acknowledging the historic resilience of the Chhamb border residents who have faced decades of cross-border challenges, Sharma assured the public that the government is focusing on specialized infrastructure and safety measures for border villages.

He concluded by stating that the current government is driven by the “politics of development,” vowing that sustainable growth and transparent governance will remain the top priorities for every region across Jammu and Kashmir.
