JAMMU, DECEMBER 28: Continuing the government’s mission to bring administration to the doorsteps of rural residents, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, IT, Transport, and Youth Services & Sports, Satish Sharma, held an extensive public outreach programme in the Chowki Choura block today.
Accompanied by a team of sectoral officers, the Minister visited Dev Sathan Padoon Panchayat Ghar and Panchayat Majoor to evaluate ongoing development projects and the effectiveness of various welfare schemes. During these interactions, local residents and panchayat representatives raised critical issues concerning food supply consistency, rural transport facilities, sports infrastructure for youth, and the expansion of IT-enabled services in remote areas.
Addressing the gatherings, Satish Sharma reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a transparent and responsive administration, specifically emphasizing that border and rural regions like Chowki Choura are top priorities in the Union Territory’s development agenda. He underscored that the benefits of government schemes must reach every eligible household without bureaucratic delays.
The Minister also spoke at length about youth empowerment, noting that significant investments are being channeled into digital governance and modern sports facilities to provide the younger generation with better career and athletic opportunities. He encouraged local youth to engage with new scientific and technological initiatives aimed at boosting innovation within the region.To ensure the outreach resulted in immediate action, the Minister directed concerned department heads to document and resolve the raised grievances within a fixed timeframe.
He instructed officers to maintain a constant dialogue with local representatives to bridge the gap between policy planning and grassroots implementation. Satish Sharma concluded the visit by stating that such outreach programs would remain a regular feature across Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen public trust and ensure that the developmental process remains inclusive and effective for all citizens.
