Sat Sharma and Priya Sethi Honor Rollball World Cup Gold Medalists in Jammu

JAMMU, January 05, 2026: In a celebratory event held at the BJP Headquarters, Sat Sharma (CA), President of J&K BJP and Rajya Sabha MP, alongside Vice President Priya Sethi, felicitated the triumphant gold medalists of the 7th Rollball World Cup.

Accompanied by Anita Gandotra and Sunita Sareen, the leaders gathered to recognize the stellar international performance of Hiteshwar Singh and Suvidha Sarin, who represented India at the world championship held in Dubai from December 14 to 18, 2025.

Both athletes secured gold medals in the Men’s and Women’s categories respectively, marking a historic achievement for the sporting community of Jammu and Kashmir.During the felicitation, Sat Sharma praised the athletes for their discipline and perseverance, noting that their global success serves as a testament to the vast sporting potential of India’s youth.

He emphasized that such victories are not just personal milestones but matters of national pride that inspire the next generation to pursue sports with vigor. Sharma also highlighted that the Central Government’s initiatives, such as Khelo India, and the ongoing improvements in sports infrastructure under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, are creating a fertile ground for Indian athletes to excel on the world stage.

Priya Sethi particularly lauded Suvidha Sarin for her remarkable performance, describing her as a role model for young girls across the region. She stated that the success of the Indian Rollball Team reflects the rising trajectory of women in sports when provided with equal opportunities and institutional support.
