Sanasar Winter Carnival 2025: Grand Opening Boosts Tourism in Jammu’s Picturesque Meadows

RAMBAN December 30 :- The breathtaking meadows of Sanasar came alive today as the Grand Winter Carnival officially commenced, drawing a massive influx of domestic tourists and local enthusiasts. Orchestrated by the Directorate of Tourism Jammu in partnership with the Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) and the district administrations of Ramban and Udhampur, the event is designed to position Sanasar as a premier year-round destination.

The carnival transformed the landscape into a hub of festive energy, successfully showcasing the region’s unique blend of natural splendor and rich cultural heritage to a national audience.The inaugural day was packed with high-energy activities and cultural showcases that captivated the crowds.

The program featured a competitive Shikara Race on the serene Sanasar Lake and a vibrant Horse Rally through the meadows, adding a thrilling adventure element to the festivities. Musical entertainment was a major draw, with live performances by renowned regional singers Jeevan Pahari, Rounak Thakur, and Mohan Thakur, alongside the energetic sounds of the Hill View Band and creative cultural displays by local students from UPS Chouri.

The event concluded with a formal ceremony attended by high-ranking officials, including CEO of Patnitop Development Authority, Virender Kumar Manyal, and Additional SP Mujeeb-ul-Rehman. Organizers distributed hampers and mementos to participants, marking the day as a significant milestone for the local economy.

Officials expressed high satisfaction with the turnout, noting that such large-scale initiatives are vital for diversifying the tourism portfolio of Jammu province and ensuring that the scenic highlands of Sanasar gain prominence as a leading winter travel hub.
