Samba Security Review: DIG Shiv Kumar Chairs High-Level Coordination Meeting to Bolster Border Vigilance
SAMBA, DECEMBER 20, 2025: Amid the ongoing winter season and prevailing weather conditions, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar, chaired a comprehensive high-level security and coordination meeting in District Samba today.
The meeting, which brought together senior officials from the BSF, ITBP, and various wings of the Jammu and Kashmir Police—including the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs)—focused on fortifying the security grid against potential threats. SSP Samba Varinder Singh Manas provided a detailed presentation on the current security scenario and the status of ongoing search operations across the district, highlighting the strategic measures being taken to maintain peace and order in the region.
Addressing the officers, DIG Shiv Kumar issued strict directives to maintain heightened vigilance and seamless inter-agency coordination, particularly during the current foggy season which can often be exploited for infiltration or anti-social activities. He emphasized the necessity of a robust community-police partnership, instructing officers to conduct regular public meetings to sensitize residents about security protocols.
The DIG specifically appealed to the public living in border areas to act as eyes and ears for the forces by providing timely information regarding any suspicious persons or activities.
This proactive security review aims to ensure a foolproof defense mechanism and reinforce the safety of the citizens throughout the Samba district.
