Samba Police Intercept Drug Consignment in Vijaypur: Three Smugglers Arrested with Heroin and Cash
SAMBA, January 29, 2026 — In a major victory against the narcotics trade, the Samba Police dismantled a smuggling attempt in the Vijaypur area, arresting three suspects—including a woman—and seizing 127 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta).
Acting on high-level intelligence regarding the transport of contraband from Rakh Barotian, a tactical team from the Vijaypur Police Station established a checkpoint at Tarapur.
Officers successfully intercepted a Toyota Innova (registration No. JK02DD-2516) and, upon a thorough search, recovered the narcotics alongside ₹60,600 in cash, suspected to be drug proceeds.The apprehended individuals have been identified as Fardeen Ahmed Dar from Batmaloo, Srinagar; Mohd Usman from Jammu; and Iqra from Shalteng, Srinagar. Following the recovery, the police seized both the contraband and the vehicle used in the crime.
An official case has been registered under FIR No. 19/2026 at Police Station Vijaypur, invoking sections 8, 21, 22, and 29 of the NDPS Act. The operation, executed under the direct supervision of the SSP Samba and SDPO Vijaypur, marks a significant step in the district’s ongoing “War on Drugs” and highlights the heightened vigilance of law enforcement against inter-district smuggling syndicates.
