Samba Police Intensify Crackdown on Illegal Mining: Six More Dumpers Seized in Consecutive Raids

SAMBA, January 19, 2026: For the second consecutive day, the Samba Police have intensified their offensive against illegal mining operations, seizing six additional dumpers across multiple jurisdictions.

This latest action is part of a sustained enforcement drive aimed at curbing the unauthorized extraction and transportation of construction materials within the district.

The successful operation was executed by dedicated police teams led by the SHO of Police Station Samba, along with the Incharges of Police Posts at Supwal, Rakh Amb Talli, and Rajpura (Ghagwal).

During strategic patrolling in their respective areas, the officers intercepted and seized six heavy-duty dumpers with registration numbers JK21G-7597, JK21J-8049, JK21G-5654, JK21G-7370, JK21E-9535, and JK21G-7817.

All vehicles were found to be actively involved in the illegal transport of minerals without valid permits.Following the seizure, the Samba Police formally handed over the vehicles to the Geology & Mining Department for further legal proceedings and heavy penalization.

Local authorities have reiterated that the crackdown will continue unabated to protect natural resources and ensure that all mining activities strictly adhere to the established legal framework.
