SAMBA, J&K — Feb 07, 2026 — Executing a massive coordinated sweep to curb the illicit extraction of natural resources, the Samba Police successfully seized nine vehicles, including eight heavy-duty dumpers and a tractor, involved in illegal mining and transportation of construction materials across the district.
During extensive patrolling operations, dedicated police teams led by SHOs from Samba, Bari Brahmana, Ghagwal, and Purmandal stations, along with in-charges from SIDCO, Supwal, and Rakh Amb Talli posts, intercepted the fleet of vehicles found operating without valid permits.
The seized dumpers, identified by registration numbers JK21G-5946, JK02DH-9381, JK21G-9285, JK02CT-9433, JK02BP-8931, JK21G-6585, JK21J-8049, and JK21H-9222, along with an unregistered tractor, have been officially handed over to the Geology & Mining Department, Samba, for stringent legal proceedings.
This decisive action underscores the district police’s zero-tolerance policy toward the “mining mafia” and their commitment to preserving the ecological integrity of the region’s riverbeds and local terrain.
