SAMBA, J&K — Feb 07, 2026 — As part of its relentless “War on Drugs,” the Samba Police successfully apprehended a drug peddler in the Ramgarh sector today, recovering approximately 8.22 grams of a heroin-like substance, commonly known as ‘chitta.’
Acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of narcotics, a vigilant team from Police Station Ramgarh intercepted a suspicious pedestrian traveling from Tarapur toward Gudwal. Upon conducting a thorough search of the individual, identified as Anil Kumar, son of Mohan Singh and a resident of Simbaleyal, Vijaypur, officers discovered the illicit contraband hidden in his possession.
The suspect was immediately taken into custody, and a formal case has been registered under FIR No. 07/2026 at PS Ramgarh, invoking Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act.
This latest arrest highlights the heightened vigilance of the Samba district police in dismantling local drug supply chains and safeguarding the youth from the growing menace of substance abuse.
