SAMBA, MAR 27: Following a suspected blast in the Ghagwal area, the entire district of Samba has been placed on high alert, triggering a massive security mobilization across the region. In a direct response to the heightened threat perception, security agencies transitioned into “action mode” by conducting a high-voltage mock drill at the Nonath Ashram. This intensive exercise was designed to test operational readiness and ensure a seamless, coordinated response to potential terror threats or emergency situations in real-time.The drill saw a multi-agency powerhouse in action, featuring the Border Security Force (BSF), Special Operations Group (SOG) Samba, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Ghagwal Police, medical emergency teams, and the fire brigade. With blaring sirens and rapid-response tactical maneuvers, the simulation recreated a high-stakes emergency environment. The exercise successfully validated the synergy between various wings of the security apparatus, demonstrating their capability to execute swift casualty evacuations and counter-insurgency tactics under pressure.Parallel to the drills, the investigation into the Ghagwal blast has been significantly intensified. Security forces are currently meticulously scanning CCTV footage from across the sector and intercepting every vehicle that passed through the area at the time of the incident. In addition to rigorous search operations in border-adjacent villages, several individuals are being questioned as part of the ongoing probe. The heightened vigil and “zero-tolerance” approach underscore the administration’s commitment to maintaining absolute control over the security grid in Jammu and Kashmir.
