Katra 01 Sept:- Prioritizing pilgrim safety above all else, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has decided to extend the suspension of the sacred yatra for a seventh day.
This continued closure is a direct response to inclement weather and potential hazards along the treacherous mountain path to the shrine. A thorough multi-agency assessment is currently in progress to evaluate the stability of the track and mitigate any risks of landslides or accidents.
Despite a minor improvement in weather conditions this morning, officials have confirmed that the situation is being monitored in real-time, and no movement will be permitted until a formal clearance, certifying the route’s absolute safety, is issued.
The base camp at Katra reflects this cautious stand, presenting a vacant look far removed from its usual fervor.
