Republic Day 2026: SSP Ganderbal Chairs High-Level Security Review to Ensure Safe Celebrations
GANDERBAL | January 06, 2026: In preparation for the upcoming Republic Day 2026, SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal conducted a comprehensive security review meeting today at the District Police Office (DPO) conference hall.
The session was aimed at assessing and strengthening the security grid across the district to ensure peaceful and incident-free celebrations. During the meeting, Poswal undertook a detailed evaluation of the current security scenario, emphasizing the need for robust preparedness and heightened vigil in the lead-up to the national event.
The high-level meeting saw participation from senior officers across various security wings, including 13RR Army Colonel Bishal Thapa, Arvind Kumar (CO 4th Bn SSB), Ram Kumar Prasad (CO 63Bn SSB), and Mohan Singh (AC 49th Bn CRPF), alongside the Additional SP Ganderbal and local SHOs.
Discussions focused heavily on area domination, intelligence sharing, and the protection of vulnerable points. Strategic deployment plans were refined, with a specific focus on implementing strict access control and efficient traffic management to minimize public inconvenience while maintaining a high security profile.
SSP Khalil Ahmad Poswal stressed the vital importance of real-time information sharing and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) among the different agencies. He directed all officers to remain proactive and mission-oriented, urging intensified patrolling to thwart any attempts by anti-national elements to disrupt public order.
The meeting concluded with a unified resolve to ensure that Republic Day 2026 is celebrated with dignity and safety throughout Ganderbal district.
