REASI, January 19, 2026: To ensure the seamless and secure conduct of the upcoming national celebrations, SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh (JKPS) chaired a comprehensive security review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO) today.
The high-level session focused on evaluating district-wide preparedness and tightening the synergy between various security and intelligence wings to prevent any untoward incidents during Republic Day 2026.
During the deliberations, representatives from multiple agencies exchanged critical intelligence updates and ground-level assessments.
SSP Paramvir Singh underscored the necessity of “proactive policing” and real-time information sharing to neutralize potential threats effectively. To fortify the region, specific directives were issued to launch joint Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs), Long Range Patrols (LRPs), and Short Range Patrols (SRPs), particularly within sensitive and vulnerable pockets of the district.In addition to territorial dominance, the district police chief ordered an immediate intensification of surprise naka (checkpost) inspections and night patrolling.
The enforcement strategy includes mandatory tenant verification drives, rigorous checks of hotels and lodges, and a comprehensive census of pony porters. With a focus on public safety, robust security protocols have been activated at vital installations, religious sites, and tourist destinations to guarantee a peaceful environment for the general public during the festivities.
