Reasi Police Trace Missing Minor in Goa; Reunited with Family After Month-Long Search

REASI March 10, 2026 — In a major cross-border success demonstrating an unwavering commitment to public safety, the Reasi District Police have successfully recovered a minor boy from Goa, nearly 1,800 kilometers away from where he first went missing.

The boy had disappeared from the premises of the SMVD Narayana Hospital almost a month ago, leading to the registration of a formal case at the Katra Police Station. Following the complaint, a dedicated search team was immediately formed at Police Post Kakryal to initiate a high-priority investigation using both local human intelligence and advanced technical assistance.

The exhaustive search operation, led by IC PP Kakryal PSI Akhilesh Khajuria and SHO Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, culminated in the successful tracing of the minor in the coastal state of Goa.

Through seamless coordination with interstate police authorities and under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, the child was safely secured and brought back to Jammu and Kashmir.

Following the completion of all legal formalities, the boy was reunited with his family in Katra, bringing immense relief to his loved ones.

SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS lauded the team’s efforts and urged the public to report missing persons promptly to ensure such swift and successful outcomes.
