Reasi Police Solve Major Theft Case Within 12 Hours; Stolen Property Worth 2.2 Lakh Recovered

REASI, April 12, 2026 — Demonstrating exceptional professional efficiency, the Reasi Police successfully cracked a high-value theft case within 12 hours of the initial report, resulting in the arrest of the suspect and the full recovery of stolen goods.

Under the leadership of SSP Reasi Mukund Tibrewal, the investigation was launched immediately after a complaint was filed at Police Station Bhawan regarding stolen articles valued at approximately ₹2,20,000.

A specialized team, led by SHO Bhawan Inspector Parmodh Singh Bajju and supervised by Dy.SP Bhawan Mahesh Sharma and SP Katra Kameshwar Puri, utilized advanced CCTV and technical analysis to track down and apprehend the perpetrator.

The accused has been identified as Sajjan Singh, son of Savinder Singh and a resident of Guru Ramdass Nagar, Ludhiana. Following his arrest, police recovered the entire cache of stolen property from his possession.

While the accused remains in custody for further questioning, the Reasi Police took additional enforcement action in a separate incident by registering an FIR against a pony handler, Kaka Singh, son of Kewal Singh and resident of Thakrakote.

He was booked at Police Station Katra for operating without a valid registration card, highlighting the department’s ongoing commitment to maintaining law and order for both residents and tourists in the region.
