Reasi Police Intensify Anti-Drug Drive: Accused Arrested with Heroin in Katra
Reasi, January 8: Continuing its rigorous crackdown on narcotics under the ongoing mission to eradicate substance abuse, the Reasi District Police arrested an individual and recovered a significant quantity of heroin.
During a special checkpoint operation at Lattori Road on Wednesday evening, police personnel intercepted Anit Sharma, a resident of Kalika Nagar, Lattori, who was traveling on foot from Katra.
A thorough search led to the recovery of 5.240 grams of a heroin-like substance from his possession. Following the discovery, a case has been registered under FIR No. 12/2026 at the Katra Police Station, invoking sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act.
The successful operation was executed by a team led by SHO Katra Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the direct supervision of SDPO Katra Bhishm Dubey and SP Katra Vipan Chandran.
