Ramban: Girls, Boys students acquainted about life-saving skills, disaster preparedness

RAMBAN, OCTOBER 10: The District Administration Ramban, in collaboration with the Mahila Disaster Management Committee (MDMC), the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) organised a Disaster Awareness and Preparedness Programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Ramban.

The programme aimed to educate and empower Boys and Girls students—with essential life-saving skills and practical knowledge required during emergencies. The MDMC Ramban emphasized that youth and women form the backbone of any resilient community and their active involvement can greatly strengthen local disaster response mechanisms.

During the session, students received hands-on training in improvisational techniques such as using household items like T-shirts and blankets to prepare makeshift stretchers. Demonstrations also covered vital first aid and emergency response procedures, including managing cardiac arrest, femur fractures and other critical situations.Considering Ramban’s vulnerability to natural calamities, such initiatives play a vital role in fostering community awareness and preparedness, ensuring timely and effective response during crises.

The MDMC Ramban expressed gratitude to the NDRF and SDRF teams for their active participation and continued support in building a culture of safety and resilience within the district.
