Ramban Administration Intensifies Market Inspections Ahead of Festival Season
RAMBAN, MARCH 20, 2026: Under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, the district administration has significantly ramped up market checking drives across Ramban to enforce fair trade practices during the peak festival period.
An inspection team, led by Tehsildar Deep Kumar and Municipal Council CEO Sudrashan Jamwal, collaborated closely with the Police Department to conduct extensive sweeps of the main town and surrounding markets.
The primary objective of these intensified operations is to ensure that local consumers have access to high-quality essential goods at government-approved rates during the busy holiday celebrations.
Throughout the drive, officials scrutinized various establishments including eateries, vegetable vendors, and grocery stores to verify food quality and prevent arbitrary price hikes on essential commodities. While the team confirmed the availability of supplies, several shop owners were slapped with on-the-spot fines for violating trade regulations and failing to adhere to prescribed rate lists.
The district authorities have issued a stern warning that strict legal action will continue against any traders found exploiting the festive rush.
Furthermore, the administration has urged all business owners to maintain high hygiene standards, prominently display price charts, and follow official guidelines to avoid further penalties.
