
Rakesh Balwal an IPS officer hailing from Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district , has been promoted to the Super Time Scale (STS) of the Indian Police Service (IPS), equivalent to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).He earlier served as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar during his deputation to Jammu and Kashmir, where he was widely appreciated for his professional work and leadership.
Governor of Manipur presided over a Rank Pipping Ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, to mark the promotion of two distinguished Indian Police Service officers – Rakesh Balwal, IPS and Ningshem Vashum, IPS.
During the ceremony, Governor placed the new rank insignia on the officers, symbolising their formal elevation in service.Rakesh Balwal, IPS, and Ningshem Vashum, IPS, were recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP). Governor congratulated both officers and extended best wishes for their continued service to the State and the Nation.
