RAJOURI, January 15, 2026: Security forces successfully thwarted a potential terror plot on Thursday by recovering and neutralizing a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Manjakote area of Rajouri district.
The recovery was made during a meticulously planned Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) conducted in Kakora village.
According to official reports, security personnel discovered a suspicious concealed bag during the search, which prompted the immediate arrival of the specialized Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS).
Upon a detailed inspection, the BDS confirmed the presence of an IED weighing approximately 3.5 kilograms. Recognizing the severe threat posed by the high-intensity explosive, the squad transported the device to a secure location and successfully destroyed it through a controlled detonation.
Authorities confirmed that the operation was executed with high precision, resulting in no casualties or damage to local property.
This successful intervention highlights the heightened vigilance and rapid response capabilities of security forces in maintaining peace and stability across the region.
