Rajouri Day 2026: Indian Army and District Administration Honor Martyrs with Patriotic Grandeur

RAJOURI, APRIL 13: The Indian Army, in a joint collaboration with the District Administration Rajouri, celebrated Rajouri Day with immense patriotic fervor and community spirit at the ALG Grounds today.

The commemoration began with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Gujjar Mandi Chowk, where dignitaries including Maj Gen Kaushik Mukherji, GOC of the Ace of Spades Division, and Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma paid rich tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the region.

The event, marked by the symbolic release of tricolor balloons, saw massive participation from local residents, students, and high-ranking civil and military officials, reinforcing the deep-seated bond between the armed forces and the civilian population.

The day’s festivities featured a diverse array of activities, including a captivating performance by the Police Pipe Band, an impressive salutation display by the Army Dog Unit, and a thrilling Malkhamb demonstration by Army personnel.

Highlighting the region’s cultural wealth, local students performed traditional dances and a thematic skit, while the administration utilized the platform to launch the Rajouri Library Club to foster youth engagement.

The event also served as a hub for developmental outreach, featuring departmental stalls from Agriculture and Horticulture, and the distribution of welfare items like electric wheelchairs and sewing machines.

Maj Gen Mukherji concluded the ceremony by praising the resilience of the people of Rajouri, emphasizing that the continued synergy between the youth, the administration, and the Army remains the cornerstone of peace and national integrity in the Pir Panjal region.
