Railways Slashes Price of Rail Neer and Packaged Water Bottles to ₹14 and ₹9

New Delhi 20 September :- In a move that will bring relief to millions of passengers, the Ministry of Railways has announced a reduction in the maximum retail price (MRP) of packaged drinking water sold across its premises and trains.

According to Commercial Circular No. 18 of 2025 issued by the Railway Board, the price of a one-litre bottle of ‘Rail Neer’ and other shortlisted brands has been reduced from ₹15 to ₹14.

Similarly, the price of a 500 ml bottle has been cut from ₹10 to ₹9. These revised rates, issued with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate, will come into effect across all Indian Railways and on IRCTC services starting from 22nd September 2025.

The directive also instructs all General Managers and the IRCTC to take necessary action to implement the new pricing, marking a reversal from the previous pricing structure that had been in place since 2012.
