Punjab Enhances Public Safety: CM Flags Off 508 High-Tech Emergency Vehicles to Slash Response Times
SANGRUR, March 31, 2026 — In a major boost to the state’s security infrastructure, the Punjab government has officially dedicated 508 new high-tech Bolero Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) to the public under the ‘Dial-112’ initiative.
During a flag-off ceremony held at Ladda Kothi in Sangrur, it was announced that this strategic deployment has successfully reduced police response times from the previous 30–45 minutes to a swift 13–14 minutes, ensuring that help reaches citizens in distress significantly faster.
This modernization effort is backed by a substantial investment of ₹327.69 crore allocated for police vehicles over the past four years, alongside a robust recruitment drive that has seen 12,197 youth join the police force.
Furthermore, the administration highlighted the success of the Road Safety Force (SSF) in reducing road accident fatalities by 48%, reaffirming a steadfast commitment to achieving a “Drug-Free” and “Secure Punjab” through advanced technology and increased departmental efficiency.
