Punjab DGP Inaugurates Tech-Driven ANTF Facility in Jalandhar to Combat Drug Syndicates
JALANDHAR | February 19, 2026 — In a major push toward a drug-free state, the Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab today visited the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Jalandhar Range, to inaugurate a newly constructed building and unveil a suite of advanced technical upgrades.
This move marks a significant shift toward intelligence-driven policing under the state’s ongoing #YudhNashianVirudh campaign. The upgraded facility is now home to a state-of-the-art technical unit designed to dismantle complex smuggling networks.
Key additions to the ANTF arsenal include advanced mobile and computer forensic tools, high-level data analytics, and specialized systems for forensic data extraction and decryption. Recognizing the evolving nature of modern crime, the unit has also been equipped with cryptocurrency investigation equipment and technical interception platforms.
These tools are specifically intended to help officers identify high-level traffickers and break down both inter-state and international drug syndicates.
”Our resolve remains firm—to build a technologically empowered, intelligence-driven force committed to a drug-free and safer Punjab,” the DGP stated via X (formerly Twitter).
To ensure these tools are used to their full potential, the department has deployed a team of highly skilled technical personnel. This modernization effort is backed by a substantial financial commitment, with over ₹10 crore invested during the 2025–26 fiscal year to bolster infrastructure and operational capabilities.
The DGP concluded his visit by praising the relentless dedication of the ANTF officers and technical teams in their mission to secure the region’s future.
