Punjab AGTF and Bathinda Police Foil Major Robbery Attempt with Arrest of Two Armed Suspects

BATHINDA, March 21, 2026 — In a coordinated strike against organized crime, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjab, in collaboration with the Bathinda Police, successfully apprehended two individuals allegedly planning a high-profile robbery.

The suspects, identified as Jacky Kumar (alias Jacky) and Vikas Arora, were intercepted before they could execute a planned heist targeting a local businessman. During the operation, law enforcement recovered two country-made .32 bore pistols, magazines, and four live cartridges, effectively neutralizing a significant threat to public safety in the region.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the Punjab Police suggest that the illegal weapons were procured from Delhi, and authorities are currently working to verify broader criminal linkages and supply chains. One of the accused, Vikas Arora, was found to have a prior criminal record, including involvement in a domestic violence case.

As the investigation continues to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy, the successful arrest underscores the state’s rigorous commitment to dismantling criminal elements and maintaining law and order through proactive intelligence and inter-departmental cooperation.
