Punita Jain Takes Charge as Regional President of Southern Star AWWA; Reaffirms Commitment to Welfare
PUNE | April 01, 2026 — In a significant leadership transition for the Indian Army’s Southern Command, Punita Jain officially assumed the responsibilities of Regional President AWWA (RPA), Southern Star AWWA, on April 1, 2026.
Stepping into this vital role, she brings a renewed vision for the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), an organization dedicated to the holistic well-being of the families that support the nation’s guardians.
Immediately upon taking office, Jain held an interactive session with the members of the Southern Star AWWA to outline the organization’s roadmap for the coming year.
During her address, she reaffirmed AWWA’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of soldiers’ families, specifically emphasizing the honor and support owed to Veer Naris (War Widows) and Veer Matas (Mothers of Martyrs).
