Pulwama Police Arrest Two Gamblers During Raid Near Murran; Stake Money Recovered

PULWAMA, January 29, 2026 — In a targeted operation to eliminate illegal gambling and maintain public order, the Pulwama Police arrested two individuals and seized a significant amount of stake money.

Acting on credible intelligence regarding illicit activities near the Marriage Hall in Murran, a tactical team from the Pulwama Police Station conducted a swift raid at the site. The apprehended suspects have been identified as Mohd Saleem Sheikh and Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganie, both residents of Murran.

While two participants were caught in the act, four other individuals managed to evade arrest during the scramble; however, authorities confirmed that a manhunt is currently underway to bring the fugitives to justice.

During the search, police officers recovered playing cards and stake money totaling ₹9,000 from the scene. Following the seizure, an official case has been registered under FIR No. 13/2026 at the Pulwama Police Station, and a comprehensive investigation is now in progress.
