Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Upcoming Jammu Visit Expected to Bring Major Relief for Flood Victims
Jammu 20 September :- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Jammu and Kashmir during the Navratri festival, with a primary focus on assessing the widespread devastation caused by recent floods in the Jammu division.
During his visit, the Prime Minister is expected to tour some of the worst-affected areas and announce a significant relief package for the victims. This high-level tour, following the visits of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, underscores the central government’s commitment to the region’s recovery.
On the pattern of relief packages announced for Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, PM Modi is anticipated to personally declare a comprehensive financial aid package aimed at providing substantial relief and supporting rehabilitation efforts for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is noteworthy that the Jammu region suffered immense loss of life and property due to heavy rainfall, cloudbursts, and landslides in the last week of August.
While the central government has already provided initial assistance of Rs 209 crores and central teams have completed their assessment of the damage, a major relief package is yet to be declared. In this context, the Prime Minister’s visit is being seen as a beacon of hope, carrying the promise of much-needed and substantial aid for the flood-affected populace.
