Poonch Police Solve Residential Theft: Stolen Gold Ring Recovered and Accused Woman Arrested
Poonch, Mar 27: District Police Poonch achieved a major breakthrough today by successfully cracking a theft case registered earlier this month at Police Station Poonch.
The investigation was initiated following a written complaint on March 20, 2026, who reported that her gold ring had been stolen from her residence in Jhullas while she was away attending a funeral in Banpat.
Acting under FIR No. 40/2026 (Section 305 BNS), a dedicated team from Police Post Jhullas utilized technical assistance and rapid field intelligence to trace the stolen property to a local goldsmith’s shop.The recovered gold ring, weighing approximately 3.970 grams and valued at nearly ₹49,000, led authorities to the prime suspect.
Further interrogation revealed that the accused had sold the jewelry to the jeweler in Poonch for ₹41,000 in cash. In a swift follow-up operation, the police apprehended the accused and successfully recovered the full cash amount from her possession.
This efficient resolution of the case highlights the District Police’s heightened vigilance and commitment to maintaining law and order while ensuring the prompt recovery of stolen assets for the citizens of Poonch.
