POONCH, JANUARY 02, 2026 — In a major crackdown on the financial assets of cross-border terrorists, the Poonch Police have attached immovable property belonging to a Pakistan-based terror handler, Jamal Lone (alias Jamala), in the Mandi area.
The legal action was executed following a direct order from the Honorable Court in connection with FIR No. 07/2002, registered at Police Station Mandi under the E&IMCO Act. The seized assets, located in Tehsil Mandi, comprise land measuring 6 Kanals and 13.5 Marlas across various Khasra numbers, with an estimated market value of approximately ₹13.36 lakh.
Jamal Lone, a resident of Chamber Kanari, originally exfiltrated to Pakistan/PoJK years ago and has since been operating as a key handler, coordinating activities aimed at undermining India’s national security and sovereignty.
Despite numerous attempts by law enforcement to secure his arrest, Lone continued to evade the legal process, leading the court to declare him a Proclaimed Offender. This attachment of property, carried out in seamless coordination with the Revenue Department, serves as a significant blow to the logistical and economic resources available to individuals operating from foreign soil.
This decisive move is part of a broader, sustained strategy by the Jammu & Kashmir Police to dismantle the infrastructure of terror networks. By targeting the personal assets of those involved in anti-national activities, authorities aim to deter others from following a similar path and to cut off the support systems that fuel regional instability.
District Police Poonch reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the public and the nation’s integrity, vowing that such stringent measures against Pakistan-based handlers will continue in the interest of lasting peace.
