Police Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Mining; Vehicles Seized During Night Operation
Pulwama 04 December :- In a sustained and resolute drive to curb illegal mining, Pulwama Police continues to tighten its crackdown across the district, carried out action today as well, and will continue such intensified drives in the coming days to ensure the rule of law is upheld and environmental interests are safeguarded.
During the intervening night of december 03 & 04, while conducting routine patrolling duties, a police team from Police Station Litter seized *one JCB, one dumper, and one tractor* involved in unauthorized soil extraction at Astanpora Litter.
All seized machinery has been taken into custody.Upon this, FIR No. 105/2025 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the PDPP Act stands registered at Police Station Litter.
Further investigation has been initiated.Pulwama Police urges the general public to refrain from unlawful extraction and to cooperate with authorities in protecting the environment and community interests.
The district police remains committed to maintaining strict vigilance and ensuring that mining regulations are enforced without compromise.
