JAMMU, FEB 10 : In a significant push for regional development and academic security, senior socio-political leader Pawan Khajuria met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhawan,presenting a comprehensive memorandum that advocates for critical life-saving infrastructure and the protection of J&K students studying in the national capital.
Khajuria’s proposal prioritizes emergency healthcare by calling for the immediate establishment of trauma-ready hospitals at Tikri (NH-44) and Panara, Majalta (Dhar Road) to curb the rising fatalities from road accidents, while simultaneously addressing Udhampur’s chronic urban congestion through the relocation of trade facilities to a proposed transport yard and warehouse at Roun-Domail.
Beyond physical infrastructure—including the demand for a modern sports stadium to combat the drug menace—the leader highlighted the systemic “harassment” of PMSSS scholars by external colleges withholding results over administrative fee delays.
Seeking a permanent safety net for the UT’s youth, Khajuria urged the LG to facilitate dedicated residential hostels in Delhi for female students, ensuring their academic focus remains unhindered by housing instability, to which the Lieutenant Governor responded with an assurance of departmental coordination and timely redressal.
