UDHAMPUR, JAMMU & KASHMIR | January 21, 2026Prominent social activist and senior leader Pawan Khajuria has called upon grassroots workers and colleagues to maintain a constant connection with the public, emphasizing that the true essence of leadership lies in selfless service.
Addressing a monthly meeting at his Udhampur office, which saw participation from representatives across various regions, Khajuria stressed that activists must act as the “collective voice of the people.” He urged his supporters to move beyond office meetings and immerse themselves in the community to understand and resolve ground-level issues.
Highlighting the values of empathy, honesty, and accessibility, he noted that leaders have a moral duty to stand by the masses in both times of joy and hardship, ensuring that the trust placed in them by the public remains unshaken.A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the ongoing concerns regarding relief for families affected by recent natural calamities.
Khajuria made a strong plea for the transparent and non-discriminatory disbursement of compensation to flood-hit families. He asserted that relief measures must be fair, ensuring that aid reaches the genuinely deserving without delay. “Natural calamities leave behind immense pain; it is our collective responsibility to ensure no deserving person is left out,” he stated.
He further appealed to the district administration to expedite the compensation process and instructed his supporters to actively assist victims with documentation and official procedures to help them rebuild their lives with dignity.
The meeting also served as a forum for activists to highlight local grievances concerning infrastructure, basic amenities, and public welfare. Senior leaders and prominent figures present, including Bishan Dass, Karnail Singh, Gopal Singh, and several others, shared specific regional challenges.
