Udhampur 22 October :- Senior leader Pawan Khajuria, along with his prominent colleagues, celebrated Diwali and spent some time with the local families of Tirchi, who are currently facing the hardships of displacement and are being forced to live in tents.
Earlier, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, everyone together performed the Diwali worship, followed by devotional songs (bhajans), after which sweets were distributed. On this occasion, fireworks, diyas (lamps), candles, school bags, stationery items, and other gifts were also distributed.
Afterwards, everyone lit fireworks together.The joy and smiles on the faces of the children upon receiving gifts, sweets, and fireworks, were heartwarming and worth seeing.
On this occasion, Pawan Khajuria said that the aim of such initiatives is to promote harmony and a sense of belonging in society.He added that many families in village Tirchi have lost their homes, land, and livestock.
Their only source of livelihood was farming, but last month’s heavy rains destroyed everything.Pawan Khajuria further mentioned that, after mutual discussions with his colleagues, they had decided to celebrate Diwali with the familes of Tirchi village.
“If we were able to bring a moment of happiness to their faces amid their sorrowful lives, we would consider ourselves fortunate,” he said.
On this occasion, Rahul Gupta, Ajay, Pradeep, Rajkumar Khokhar, Gagan Sharma, Vimal, and others were also present with him.
