Patiala Police Bust Inter-State Illegal Arms Module; 4 Arrested with 10 Sophisticated Weapons
PATIALA | April 02, 2026 — In a significant crackdown on organized crime and weapon smuggling, the Patiala Police has successfully dismantled an inter-state illegal arms supply network, apprehending four key suspects. During the operation, security forces recovered 10 sophisticated, self-loading firearms intended for criminal use across the region.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the module was sourcing these high-quality, country-made weapons from Bihar to distribute them among criminal elements within Punjab. The investigation has further uncovered a volatile plot rooted in gang rivalry, as the accused were reportedly planning to target a rival criminal associated with the notorious Goldy Dhillon network.
Authorities believe the strike was intended to establish dominance over local criminal territories. A formal case has been registered, and police officials are currently conducting a deeper probe to trace both backward and forward linkages, aiming to identify the manufacturers in Bihar and the end-users in Punjab.
Reaffirming their stance, the Punjab Police stated that they maintain a zero-tolerance policy against illegal arms trafficking and remain committed to dismantling such networks to ensure the safety and security of the state.
