Pak Balloon Recovered from Agricultural Field in Akhnoor; Handed Over to Police

AKHNOOR, March 9, 2026 — A Pakistani balloon was discovered earlier today in the agricultural field of a local resident in the Taroti area of Jourian, Akhnoor.

The balloon was found by Sanjay Kumar, son of Rishi Ram, a resident of Ward Number 3, Taroti, who immediately alerted the authorities after noticing the object.

According to initial reports, the balloon featured the markings “Pakistan International Airlines” and “SGA” printed on its surface.

Following the recovery, the balloon was safely handed over to the Jourian Police for further investigation.

Authorities are currently examining the object to determine its origin and intent, though similar incidents involving drifted balloons are frequently reported in the border regions.
