Kishtwar Aug 11: Operation underway to eliminate hidding terrorists in the thick forests of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir enters second consecutive day as security forces intensified their operation to eliminate a group of hiding terrorists, officials reported on Monday.
According to sources, the Terrorists are suspected to be holed up inside a deep cave along a steep cliff in the Bhagna forest area of Dool, approximately 25 km from Kishtwar town. The operation was launched early Sunday following credible intelligence about the presence of two high-profile terrorists in the region. As Per official the terrorists had initially opened fire on search parties at around 6:30 AM on Sunday before retreating further into the dense woodland. Multiple exchanges of gunfire were reported throughout the day as security forces tightened their cordon.
Reinforcements, including elite para commandos, police, and CRPF personnel, were rushed to the area, while surveillance drones were deployed to prevent any escape attempts. The last confirmed gunfire from the terrorists was heard near the cave late Sunday evening, prompting suspicions that they had taken refuge inside.
