KISHTWAR, February 10, 2026 — The high-intensity joint counter-terrorism initiative, Operation Trashi-I, continues to unfold in the treacherous forest terrains of Chatroo, Kishtwar, as security forces maintain a rigorous search and cordon operation.
Launched on January 18 by a combined team of the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police, the operation recently resulted in the neutralization of one terrorist, prompting a further escalation of surveillance and tactical maneuvers across the region.
Despite the challenges posed by the densely forested and difficult mountainous landscape, security agencies have established a multi-layered security grid to ensure that any remaining militants are eliminated and no escape routes are left open.
Officials have reaffirmed their commitment to the mission, stating that the joint operation will persist with full intensity until the area is completely sanitized of terror elements, ensuring long-term peace and stability in the district.
