Operation Trashi Day 19: Security Forces Intensify Anti-Terror Search Operations in Kishtwar’s Chatroo and Surrounding Belts

KISHTWAR, Feb 05, 2026 – Entering its 19th consecutive day, “Operation Trashi” continues to sweep through the rugged terrains of Kishtwar district as security forces intensify their hunt for remaining terrorists hiding in the upper reaches.

The massive anti-terror search operation is currently focused on the Chatroo area and has expanded into neighboring regions including Keshwan, Dolgam, Jaasheer, Singhpora, and Chingam. This heightened activity follows a significant breakthrough on February 4, when a terrorist belonging to the proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was neutralized during a fierce encounter in the Dichal area.

The operation remains a high-stakes joint effort involving the Indian Army, CRPF, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the J&K Police. These elite security agencies are conducting meticulous combing operations across dense forests and mountainous hideouts to ensure the area is fully sanitized.

While one foreign terrorist has already been eliminated, officials maintain that the cordon-and-search effort will persist until all threats are neutralized.

Security cordons have been tightened at all entry and exit points of the Chatroo-Chingam belt to prevent any potential escape, reflecting the unwavering commitment of the forces to restore peace and stability to the Kishtwar region.
