Operation Sadbhavna: Indian Army Hands Over New Community Toilet Facility to Khana Chargal Panchayat
JAMMU | January 12, 2026 — In a continued effort toward nation-building and community welfare, the Indian Army has officially handed over a newly constructed community toilet facility to the Gram Panchayat of Khana Chargal, Jammu.
Executed under the umbrella of Operation Sadbhavna, this project was designed to address a critical infrastructure requirement for the local population.
The initiative aligns closely with the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Mission, highlighting the Army’s proactive commitment to enhancing sanitation, promoting hygiene, and fostering inclusive development in remote areas.
The handover ceremony was attended by prominent local representatives, including BDC Member Rehmat Ali and DDC Member Samima Begam, alongside the Sarpanch and other Panchayat members.
Army officers, led by the Commanding Officer of the local unit, formally presented the facility to the community. This project serves as another example of the Tiger Division and the Indian Army’s steadfast resolve to support the people of Jammu and Kashmir through social welfare programs that extend beyond their core security duties.
