UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 19: A daylong workshop cum awareness camp was today organized by the Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E) J&K, here at District Treasury.
The camp was held under the supervision of District Treasury Officer Deeraj Jandial and presided over by Senior Deputy Accountant General (A/Cs), Mukesh Kumar Bramhane.At the outset, Additional Treasury Officer Vaagesha Gupta welcomed the participants and threw light on the crucial role of Drawing and Disbursing Officers in the financial management, accurate maintenance of accounts and timely submission of vouchers and bills.
While addressing the gathering, Senior Dy Accountant General said that the main objective of the workshop is to sensitise DDOs about accounting procedures and common issues observed during audits. He emphasised the need for transparency, accuracy and strict adherence to financial rules to avoid discrepancies and audit objections.
The Resource persons highlighted key accounting practices, common mistakes observed in bills and vouchers and the importance of timely reconciliation. The workshop witnessed active participation from DDOs and officials of various departments of the district.
