Udhampur 28 November :- A one-day Free Eye Screening Camp and eyeglass Distribution camp under the Vision Care Project was successfully conducted today at Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur.
The camp was jointly organized by the Medical Aid Committee and NCC Units of GCW Udhampur, in collaboration with KLSM Rotary Eye &ENT Hospital, Udhampur, under the able guidance of the Principal, Dr.Nalini Pathania.
During the camp, around 306 students, including faculty members,underwent comprehensive eye check-ups. Following the screenings, a significant number of students in need were provided free eyeglasses,bringing immense benefit to them. The active and disciplined participation of the NCC girl cadets added special value to the event,reflecting their commitment to community welfare initiatives.
A dedicated team from KLSM Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital, comprising Munish Verma (Project Coordinator), Ashish Sharma (Project Supervisor), Preeti, and Abhinav Gupta (Ophthalmic Assistant),conducted the screenings. They also sensitized students about essential eye care practices, the importance of eye protection, and the need for regular eye check-ups to prevent avoidable visionproblems.
Prof. Sunil Mangotra, Convenor, Medical Aid Committee, presented a brief account of the camp and its objectives. Refreshments were also distributed among the students during the event.
Among others present on the occasion were Dr. Indu Khajuria (HoDChemistry), Prof. Lekh Raj, Dr. Monika Gupta, Dr. Mool Raj, Dr.Shivani Suri Verma, Dr. Kamaldeep Kour, Prof. Kusha Sharma, Dr. AnitaKumari, Prof. Yash Paul, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Prof. Yash Kumar, Prof.Sandesh Kumar, along with teaching and non-teaching staff members.
